WHAT IS THE GED TEST?
The GED is actually a series of five tests on subject areas covered in high school: Writing Skills, Interpreting Literature and the Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. You will not be required to know all the information that is usually taught in high school, but you will be expected to be able to read and process information.
When you pass the GED test, you will receive a Florida high school diploma. Employers in private industry and government as well as many colleges and universities accept the GED certificate. This diploma is issued by the State of Florida instead of an individual school.
After you take the GED test, you will receive an individual score for each of the five subject area tests and a total score which is the average of all the other scores. The scores needed to pass the test vary according to the area where you tested; there are varying minimum state requirements.
