There is NO FEE for the following courses for persons who do not have a high school diploma. A diagnostic test must be taken prior to beginning.
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
- Vocational English for Speakers of Other Languages (VESOL)
- Basic Education Skills
- Pre-GED (General Education Development)
- GED Practice Test
There are several types of financial aid for students: District Financial Aid Program(DFAP), the fee waiver program, homeless adult students' aid, SAVES, and Pell Grants.
DFAP
The District Financial Aid Program (DFAP) is aimed at low-income students. If you think you are eligible for this program, please call (305) 445-7731 Ext. 2757.
Fee Waiver
The fee waiver program is for students who meet the federal government's guidelines for poverty. If you think you qualify for this program, you must be able to produce one of the following proofs of income:
- unemployment claim for benefits.
- a notarized statement of income.
- a certified income tax form.
- food Stamp authorization.
- aid for Dependent Children authorization.

SAVES
- Skills for Academic, Vocational, and English Studies (SAVES) is a joint venture between the State of Florida Department of Children and Families and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
- This project provides textbook and vocational course fees for eligible English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) clients. If you think you might be eligible for this program, please call(305) 445-7731 Ext. 2757 for more information.
GRANTS
- Miami-Dade County Public Schools also processes two additional federal aid grants: Pell Grants, which do not have to be repaid, and Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (SEOG).
