In recent years, the public has grown more interested in the health and beauty of their skin than ever before. As the demand for these new services increases, more positions await licensed professionals.

 

As men and women spend more money on how to look their best, they also require professional advice as to how to use the products they purchase.

 

In the past, salons offered only traditional services such as hair care, hairstyling, and caring for wigs and hairpieces. Today, modern salons offer some or all of the following services:

 

  • Skin care (aesthetics) and facials
  • Makeup application for daytime, evening, and special occasions
  • Corrective and therapeutic skin care
  • Eyebrow shaping, eyelash application
  • Removal of unwanted hair on the face and body

 

 

Certificate of Completion


A certificate of completion is issued to Program Completers who obtain all Occupational Completion Points (OCP), and obtain licensure from Florida State Board of Cosmetology.

 

 

260 Hours Program

 

This program provides theory and skills in:

 

  • Sanitation and shop safety rules in all procedures
  • Identifying bone structure, face shapes
  • Draping, preparing clients
  • Choosing products and equipment for skin analysis client consultation
  • Actions and reactions of chemicals on skin
  • Lash and brow treatments, synthetic lash application
  • Shaping eyebrows, tweezing, and waxing
  • Professional ethics with patrons and co-workers
  • Employment options
  • Histology of hair, skin, and nails
  • Entrepreneurship management skills
  • Working knowledge of Florida Law, Chapter 477
  • Understand knowledge of the "Florida Right to Know" law, Chapter 442

 

 

Points & Grade

 

The following Grading Scale will apply to all courses within the program: 90 -100 A | 80 - 89 B | 70 - 79 C | 60 - 69 D | 59 or less
