Across industries, professionals face the challenge of adapting to new ways of working inside and outside their organizations. Underlying this shift is the fact that people's relationship with software is changing. Gone is the view of technology as an impersonal tool. Instead, technology has become a vital part of many people's lives, transforming how they work, play, and connect with family and friends.
Creative professionals are also responding to this shift with an expanded view of content that crosses print, digital media, and screens. Adobe's comprehensive product portfolio and integrated technologies give creative professionals many of the solutions they need to rapidly deliver compelling content to diverse audiences. With Adobe solutions, creative professionals can focus on bringing their ideas to life.
Program
This 1200-hour program prepares students for careers in digital media, new media, and multimedia positions. The content includes practical experiences in Web page design, interactive presentation development, testing and production. Specialized skills in multimedia presentations such as video editing; audio features, and simple animation and authoring software are used to produce a variety of interactive multimedia presentations.
Each vocational class lasts one term; therefore, the more classes taken per term, the sooner a program can be completed (i.e. if two classes per term, student can complete program in 2 terms or 6 months). The school provides state of the art computer equipment as well as any needed equipment for class use. All students who plan to enroll in a vocational course must read and understand the English language. If a student did not achieve a passing score on the admission test, s/he is encouraged to attend the VPI lab to improve their language and math skills prior the completion of the program.
Certificate of Achievement
A certificate of achievement is issued upon the completion of program standards based on Occupational Completion Points (OCP).
Certificate of Completion
A certificate of completion is issued to Program Completers who obtain all Occupational Completion Points (OCP) and pass the Basic skills requirements for the program.
Adobe Certified Associate (ACA)
An Adobe Certified Associate credential certifies individuals have the entry-level skills to plan, design, build, and maintain effective communications using different forms of digital media. Validate your Adobe skills.
Introduction to Computers (150 hrs)
Prerequisite for all programs
This introductory course will train students in the basic skills in operating a personal computer. This course provides introduction to users and newcomers to the new technological world we live in today. The course includes Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office applications, and Keyboarding. Since this is an introductory course, no computer skills are needed prior to admission. After successful completion of Introduction to Computers students will have met Occupational Completion Point Data Code A, BTE Core, Certificate.
Multimedia I
Multimedia Production Assistant (450 Hours)
This class can be taken concurrently with the BTE Core
Students will acquire knowledge of presentation production, presentation materials and presentation marketing mediums. Produce a presentation that includes music, animation, and digital photography and present it using a projection system.
Students will learn and understand graphic and other file formats (e.g., EPS, TIFF, JPEG, ASCII, MPEG, MIDI, AVI, WAV) and image size when scanning and saving files for use in different presentation types (web, computer, print, etc.).After successful completion of these two courses students will have met OCP A, Multimedia Production AssistantCertificate.
Multimedia II
Multimedia Junior Designer (600 Hours)
This class can be taken concurrently with BTE Core and with Multimedia I - Multimedia Production Assistant
In this course students will attain proficiency in web page design applicable to the WWW, understand HTML commands, compare WYSIWG editors to non-WYSIWG coding, interpret HTML coding on an existing web page and use HTML commands to write a Web page. Students will create Web pages for publication; edit images and photographs for Web pages using digital imaging software, create, edit and integrate animation files into a Web page and create and incorporate forms in a web page.
After successful completion of Multimedia II – Multimedia Junior Designer students will have met OCP B, Multimedia Junior Designer Certificate.
