| This program is designed to prepare students for employment
as a General Office Clerk I, General Office Clerk II,
Software Support Help Desk, and PC Support Specialist.
It offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills
to prepare students for employment in PC support services
positions. The content covers software applications
and operating systems including the use of advanced
software/system features and programs; electronic communication
via the Internet; Web page components; computer networking
and network administration; the interrelationships among
major components of networks; hardware and software
selection and installation; integration techniques to
enhance projects; and preventative hardware maintenance.
This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and
stresses understanding and demonstration of the following
elements of the PC support services industry: planning;
management; finance; technical and production skills;
underlying principles of technology and labor issues.

Business Systems & Technology
This introductory course will train students the basic skills of operating
a personal computer. It provides introduction to the new technological
world we live in today. The course includes Microsoft Office and Keyboarding.
Word
This course covers the most important topics of Microsoft Word, including
styles, outlines, tables, and tables of contents, creating form letters
and mailing labels, integrating Word with other programs and the World
Wide Web, customizing toolbars and templates, recording macros, creating
on-screen forms, managing long documents with master documents, and
drawing watermarks and 3-D objects, among other features.
Excel
It covers the
most important topics of Microsoft Excel, including creating, editing,
and formatting worksheets and charts, Excel lists and pivot tables.
It covers filters, subtotals, working with multiple worksheets, one-
and two-variable input tables, creating applications and using macros
among other advanced features.
Access
Enables students to design and create database objects including tables,
queries, forms, reports and pages. In addition, students will master filtering
by selection, importing data into an Access table and inserting fields
into a table design. Course involves adding and moving fields in table
design, adding graphics to a form or report, creating command buttons
on a form, developing databases, creating forms based on joined tables,
creating a macro to control form properties, creating single- and multi-parameter
queries.
PowerPoint/Publisher
This course will empower students with the ability to create and edit
slides, incorporate clipart and charts, and run a slide show. In-depth
areas of discussion include creating templates and slide show transitions,
animating text and automating a slide show.
Microsoft
Publisher will acquaint students with the proper procedures to create
professional quality publications that combine, text, graphics, illustrations,
and photographs, suitable for course work, professional purposes, and
personal use.
A+ (PC Support 5)
This course continues the development of advanced skills in the PC Support
Services positions. The content includes utilization of advanced software/system
features and programs, integration techniques to enhance projects, network
administration, components of Web pages, and preventative hardware maintenance.
Our programs are instructor led, and are designed as hands-on
workshops in small groups. Our dedicated team of instructors together
brings more than 200 years of experience, in the fields of professional
training, software applications, manufacturing, design and production.
Our focus is on intensive technology based job skills training. In an
effort to accommodate varying study schedules, TEC offers day, half
day and evening classes.
